Carmel Abbgy is the Director of Strategic Initiatives, Thought Leadership & Impact at Laughlin Legal, where she partners closely with Amy Laughlin to advance the firm’s thought leadership, speaking engagements, publishing efforts and well-being initiatives. Her work focuses on transforming ideas into meaningful action by managing complex initiatives, fostering collaboration and creating systems that support the firm’s long-term goals.

Carmel brings more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning wellness, hospitality, healthcare, marketing, event planning, retail and business operations. Throughout her career, she has led teams, managed complex operations and guided organizations through periods of growth and change. Her background in wellness and strategic operations complements Laughlin Legal’s commitment to supporting individuals and families through life’s most significant transitions with resilience and well-being.

Having built her career across Georgia, California, Texas and Michigan, Carmel has developed an appreciation for the diverse communities and perspectives that shape how people live, work and connect. Working in a variety of markets has strengthened her ability to build strong relationships, understand different audiences, and approach each initiative with curiosity, adaptability and an appreciation for different perspectives.

Outside of work, Carmel enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, photography, creative projects, live music, miniature builds and puzzles.
