Lucas M. Pastuszka

Lucas Pastuszka is a Managing Associate with Laughlin Legal, an estate planning attorney whose legal practice involves wealth transfer planning, retirement planning, trust administration, and probate, as well as income, estate, and gift taxation.

He’s the son of Polish immigrant parents who met in the United States and had a rough start here. They helped him appreciate the value of labor and productivity. That work ethic – of doing what you promise and more – is evident in his practice.

As a law school student, Lucas received the CALI ’Excellence for the Future’ Award for his work with patients in the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center, offering them help with healthcare planning, estate planning, public benefits, and other legal matters.

Lucas interned at the IRS Office of Chief Counsel’s Small Business and Self-Employed Division, where he observed the inner workings of the IRS and gained valuable tax compliance insight. He also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng and the Honorable Judge Peter J. Busch at the Probate Department of the Superior Court of California in San Francisco.

Prior to joining Laughlin Legal, Lucas gained valuable experience by working at various diverse trust & estate law firms in the Bay Area. He gained knowledge and experience providing high-volume estate planning service, estate planning and tax services for high-net-worth individuals, and trust and estate litigation representation.

When not in the office, Lucas enjoys spending his leisure time swimming, doing archery, ballroom dancing, dancing with fire, water coloring, and entertaining children as Batman. He’s also passionate about investing in cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology and provides educational and setup services to individuals interested in getting started with cryptocurrency investing.
