Kristen Van Antwerp
Kristen received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law and her Bachelor's degree in European History from Mills College in Oakland, CA. She has spent most of her legal career in family law but has also practiced in the areas of tort litigation, medical malpractice, and administrative law. Prior to joining Laughlin Legal, PC, Kristen volunteered with the Family and Children's Law Center in Marin County serving low-income clients and has worked as an associate in private practice.
Kristen is dedicated to achieving superior results for her clients in the areas of child custody and support. Her focus is to put the needs of children first when there is conflict, and to rebuild safe and secure situations in which children can thrive. Kristen is also passionate about building and solidifying new families through the legal process of adoption. Whether adopting a stepchild, participating in an independent adoption, or formalizing the legal relationship with an adult child, Kristen walks her clients through each step of the process.
Kristen has lived in the Bay Area for 20 years. Outside of work, she spends her time volunteering for her children's elementary school, her daughter's ballet school, and her son's little league. She loves to be outdoors with her family, gardening, and hiking in the mountains.
